Partial Wrap Hinges

Every room in the house employs cabinet hinges in one capacity or another. From jewelry boxes to closet doors, hinges keep our homes running smoothly. With all the variety out there, though, knowing which ones to use can be tricky. Wrap hinges are just some of the many options within cabinet hinges, and here’s how they work around your home.

Inset cabinet doors need partial wrap hinges. This means, if your cabinet doors rest inside the frame of your cabinets, then you’re going to use wrap hinges to keep things up. Overlay doors have part of the cabinet door resting on the frame. Overlay doors can also use partial wrap hinges, and the type of cabinet hinges will depend on the amount of overlay. The ½” and ¼” decorative hinges are the most common, but you can find wrap hinges with a 3/8” overlay as well. The overlay doorframe mounts this hardware on the outside of the cabinets, making them more decorative hinges than the inset versions.

Don’t worry if you are still unsure which cabinet hinges are right for you. Our knowledgeable customer service assistants can help you find just the hardware for you. So whether you need decorative hinges like our strap hinges or H hinges or want something more practical like self-closing hinges or demountable hinges, we have the cabinet hinges for you and just the right people to help you out.
